Despite positive words during our visit to London Gateway Port in February, it has
now been announced that the plans are under review because of the current economic
climate. They are likely to be cut down and delayed. For more details see the new

However the new owners of Southend Airport (Eddie Stobbard Group) and the two councils
(Southend and Rochford) are pushing ahead with redevelopment plans which would take
the airport to 2 million passengers a year. A new railway station and terminal building
were always planned but now an extension to the runway has been added. To see the

Fox International have launched a new internet TV station focusing on the Thames
Gateway. So far it seems to be a good place to find out what is happening and is
